Public performances: TBA
“All applicants should come prepared to dance,” said Vladimir Lepisko,
Coordinator for BBT. “Registration begins 1/2 hour prior to each audition.
Candidates are asked to bring a resume and a headshot.”
Free Auditions will be held on the campus of Kingsborough Community College,
2001 Oriental Blvd., in Building T7 - 2nd floor, Room 7211
BBT’s version of the Nutcracker departs from the usual winter fairy tale that is
seen in American ballet theatres. “Our performances are highly supported by the
New York cultural community,” said Irina Roizin, President of BBT. “This
production will portray the beautiful international diversity of New York with
dances representing the countries of Spain, Nigeria, China, India, France and
Russia. The ballet culminates in the Land of Freedom rather than the traditional
Land of Sweets.”
BBT is dedicated to providing the highest quality dance education for children
and adults. It is a well-established cultural center that has been in existence
for 22 years with more than 400 students attending each year. BBT's curriculum
includes ballet (Russian method), character dance, modern and
popular dance, latin and ballroom dance,
and folk dance. BBT provides all children with a
unique opportunity to perform full-scale ballets, with costumes and scenery.
